Matthew Curtis For flight instructor Matthew Curtis, it all started with the Aviation Merit badge in Boy Scouts. Matthew began his adventure in aviation in 1996 at the Manhattan Regional Airport. Working at the airport, he traded hours fueling planes for dual flight instruction. Soon, at the young age of 16, he found himself a new Private Pilot! In 2003, after attending UND Aerospace in North Dakota where he completed all his professional licenses, he moved with his new wife to Minnesota where he owned and operated a Part 61 flight school for several years in Little Falls (KLXL). It was amongst those tall trees of Central Minnesota that Matthew accumulated more than 1500 hours of dual flight instruction given in countless makes and models of airplanes. His favorite flying to date is the old PA-12 on EDO 2000 floats in Northern Minnesota! In 2007 the smell of jet fuel (and a better paycheck!) lured him away to fly corporate jets for Ashley Furniture in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After flying corporate jets for nearly 8 years, in 2014, Matthew opted for a slower life. Truly, 250+ nights a year in hotels had taken its toll. His (now) 3 kids and wife were in agreement! Matthew "packed up" his wife, kids, and dog and moved back to his hometown of Manhattan in June of 2014. He now considers international sales his career at Agtech, Inc. Matthew holds an ATP license and type ratings in the Citation 500 series, Learjet 45, Challenger 300, and Challenger 604 / 605. He has never forgotten the excitement of a new students and the real reason people fall in love with aviation. Matthew looks forward to sharing the dream of flight with you soon!
