This ancient Ukrainian art uses a batik method of layering wax and dye on an egg. You will use a traditional kistka, bee's wax, and dyes to create a basic design and embellish the design during the process. Learn the tools and tricks as well as some of the history, myths, and legends associated with this art. The instructor has written a pysanky design book, published in 2005, in addition to writing about pysanky for several decades. All supplies, with the exception of varnish to coat the finished product, will be provided. You will be shown how to empty your egg after it is varnished.
**NOTE** Please let the instructor know if you have taken the introduction to pysanky class and you will learn more advanced techniques and methods during this class. Ages 16+. Class ending time may vary.
