This class will provide the citizen responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, minimize pain, and reduce consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives, thereby acting as the first link in the Emergency Medical Services system (EMS). The course also emphasizes prevention of injuries and illness with a focus on personal safety and health. AED Essentials will teach individuals the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Mask included in the class fee. Available for KSU credit. Ages 16+.
