In this engaging two-hour introductory course, participants will explore the fascinating world of beekeeping and gain a foundational understanding of how to care for and manage a honeybee hive. Led by an apprentice beekeeper, the class will cover essential topics such as the role of bees in pollination and local ecosystems, the basic structure and organization of a hive, and the different types of bees and their functions. Participants will also be introduced to common beekeeping equipment, seasonal hive management practices, and simple steps to support bee health in their own environments. Whether you’re curious about starting your own hive or simply want to learn more about these vital pollinators, this class offers a hands-on, accessible introduction to the art and importance of beekeeping.
