Enjoy an afternoon of crafting at UFM! Choose from the following activities from 1:00 PM to 2:10 PM:

Sculpy - Create your own clay creation of a coaster or a small dish for jewelry. Baking clay provided. You will take the project home to bake and glaze as desired. Make up to two items. Leader: Linda Teener

Hand Lettering for Beginners - Learn the basics of hand-lettering in a judgment-free, beginner setting. We'll learn different techniques and styles to help you explore your creativity. Try a single letter, inspirational quote, or a name. Once you're feeling more confident, decorate a card or a gift tag to take with you, along with your new skill! Leader: Allison Saab

Macrame Snowflake - You will learn how to make small macramé snowflakes that can be used for your holiday decorations - on your tree, on presents, or to hang on a wall or window. You will learn a few easy knots that will allow you to make several snowflakes to take home! Supplies provided. Leader: Charlene Brownson

Charlene coordinates educational programs at UFM. She has a BS degree in Art Education and enjoys sharing her interest in arts and crafts with others.

Kindness Rocks - Kindness Rocks is a national effort that helps spread joy throughout communities with a simple act of kindness. After a guided conversation about kindness, compassion, and how to make positive connections with others, you'll doodle, decorate, paint, and write on lovely little rocks to surprise our community (or one another) with colorful, encouraging messages. No artistic abilities are needed, and this class is for all ages. All supplies will be provided including rocks, paints, markers, brushes, and more. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little paint on and feel free to bring snacks. Sponsored by the Manhattan Nonviolence Initiative - Community, Connection, Conversation.
Leaders: Susanne Glymour and Ellen Urton
